Dr. Robert (Rob) Wenham is Chair of the Department of Gynecologic Oncology and Senior Member in the Molecular Medicine Program at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute. He holds a Professorship in the Department of Oncologic Sciences at the University of South Florida. His background includes undergraduate and graduate studies in biochemistry and molecular biology at UNT, medical school at UT Southwestern, residency at the Harvard Combined Program at the Brigham and Women’s and Massachusetts General Hospitals, and gynecologic oncology fellowship at Duke University Medical Center. He is interested in the leadership of medicine and completed a Harvard Business School Online Specialty Certification in Healthcare Leadership and a fellowship from the CTI Physician Leadership Institute. Research interests center primarily on novel therapies in the treatment of gynecologic cancers and he has over 125 publications. He has served on or chaired numerous steering, data safety, and other committees related to therapeutic discovery, and also as PI of a large clinical and biorepository study to enable translational discovery and trial matching. Clinically, he provides full spectrum of minimally invasive to radical procedures, including extensive expertise with exenterative surgery; and administers biologic-, immunologic- and chemo-therapies. His aim is to combine many strategies to eliminate the suffering of cancer and cure or significantly extend the life of patients.
