Dr. Deepika Singh, a successful entrepreneur, founded Sinmat, to develop and commercialize Chemical Mechanical Planarization (CMP) technologies for super-hard materials such as Silicon carbide, Gallium nitride, Sapphire and Diamond for the semiconductor industry. As CEO of Sinmat, she grew the company from a small business to a leading global supplier of CMP products. These technologies are currently used in manufacturing of advanced silicon carbide electronics for Electric vehicles, 5G communications infrastructure, advanced Defense Electronics, Smartphones and Smartwatches. In 2020, she successfully managed the acquisition of Sinmat by Entegris, a leading supplier of specialized materials and chemicals to the semiconductor industry. In February 2022, Deepika Singh was elected to the National Academy of Engineering. In October 2023 she was inducted in to the Florida Inventors Hall of Fame. She currently holds over 35 isuued patents. She was also recognized personally by President Obama at a White House press conference for developing new ways to improve microchip manufacturing. She is a recipient of numerous awards including four R&D100 awards also known as the “Oscars of Invention” given once a year for developing the top 100 technology products. She received her D.SC degree in Materials Science and Engineering from EPFL, Switzerland, her Master’s degree from the University of Florida and a B.S in Computer Sceince and Enginerring from NCState University..
