Profile

Israel J. Morejon has product design experience in the consumer, medical, automotive, military, industrial, instrumentation and lighting industries.

He has been involved with research, development and innovation efforts for most of his career. He has been granted 28 patents in Communications technology, LED TVs, LCD Backlights, Nanoprojectors, and Solid-State Lighting. These patents comprise innovation in electrical engineering, thermodynamics, mathematics, mechanical engineering, software, chemistry, optics, and nanotechnology fields.

He has founded two startup companies in precision instrumentation and in solid-state lighting fields.

Mr. Morejon is the Founder and President of Integrated Engineering Technology, a high-tech engineering consulting group involved in instrumentation and precision circuits. Among others, he has designed ultra precision voltage references and voltage and current calibrators for metrology applications.

Prior to this, he was the Chief Technology Officer at enVerid Systems and designed and led the development of a system that cleans the air in buildings of carbon dioxide and volatile organic compounds without having to exhaust conditioned air. This product revolutionized energy efficiency and air quality technology.

He was the Founder, CEO, and president of LEDnovation, a pioneering company in solid-state lighting that designed the world’s most efficient and award-winning LED lamps.

He was the Chief Technology Director at Jabil Circuit where he grew the design engineering organization globally. He led the design of multiple and diverse products, such as communication systems, wireless solutions, computing devices, laptop docking stations, camera modules, embedded systems, automotive products and smart phones. He pioneered a communication system for the last mile technology and an optical tomography cancer detection system.

At Johnson & Johnson he designed medical multi-parameter acute care systems.

He began his career at Hercules Aerospace designing guided missile and control systems.

Mr. Morejon has designed various Robots, digital video encoding systems, hearing aids, Stepper motor test solutions for kidney dialysis, sensor systems for a variety of products, a universal AC dimmer, multiple test equipment systems, noise measurement designs, ASICs for various projects and many RF products.

He served on the University of South Florida (USF) Research Foundation Board and is now serving as Chair of the USF Medical Engineering Advisory Board.

He was inducted to the National Academy of Inventors in 2017 and received the USF College of Engineering Entrepreneurial Excellence Award in 2019. He was inducted into the Florida Inventors Hall of Fame in 2020 and into the Academy of Science, Engineering & Medicine of Florida 2021.
