She is a tenured Full Professor in the Robert Stempel College of Public Health and Social Work in the Dept of Environmental Health Sciences with Professor faculty appointments in College of Engineering and Computing in the Dept of Biomedical Engineering and in the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine in the Dept of Cellular and Molecular Medicine.

She is Fellow of the American Thoracic Society (ATS) and Fellow of the Global Academy of Nanotechnology (GAN). In 2025, Dr. Mansour was awarded Fellow of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) in recognition of her professional excellence, sustained positive impact on global health, and whose outstanding scientific accomplishments distinguish her as a leader in her field. She is Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) awarded in 2024 for significant and outstanding contributions to the advancement of the chemical sciences. Dr. Mansour is a Fellow of the American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) inducted in the 2022 Class of College Fellows, which represents the top 2% of medical and biological engineers, for innovations in targeted pulmonary inhalation aerosol medicine. An Academy member in the National Academy of Inventors (NAI), Dr. Mansour was elected in the 2023 NAI Class. She is a recipient of the 2024 ATS Presidential Commendation honor and was honored as Fellow of the International Academy of Nanotechnology (IAN) and the Florida Association for Nanotechnology (FAN) in December 2024.

The Mansour Lab Research interests are in advanced targeted drug delivery systems, nanomedicine, inhaler drug-device design, and translational science. Therapeutic disease state research areas that the Mansour Lab research program investigates are pulmonary diseases including airway and vascular diseases, neuroinflammatory diseases, infectious diseases, and oncology. Her research has been continuously funded by federal (i.e. NIH, NSF, FDA, and the DOD) and non-federal (i.e. foundations and pharmaceutical biotech companies) sources attracting 49 funded grant awards totaling over $20 million.

Her innovative research program has produced faculty members who are employed at major research universities in the United States and in the Republic of S. Korea. In addition, her research program has produced Senior Research Scientists who are employed in major pharmaceutical companies in the United States. As Postdoc Mentor, Dr. Mansour has successfully mentored and trained 15 Postdoctoral Research Scholars in her research program. As Major Professor, Dr. Mansour has successfully trained and graduated 5 doctoral graduate students with PhD degrees, as well as Research Assistant Professors. Dr. Mansour successfully completed her 3-year term as Vice Chair of the American Thoracic Society (ATS) Drug/Device Discovery & Development (DDDD) Committee and Chair (2022-2024) of the American Pharmacist Association (APhA) Academy of Pharmaceutical Research and Science (APRS) Basic Sciences. She serves on the PhRMA Foundation Scientific Advisory Committee (Drug Delivery), International Society of Aerosols (ISAM) Executive Board, and Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Scientific Advisory Board. She serves on the Editorial Advisory Boards of the journals Royal Society of Society (RSC) Molecular Systems Design & Engineering (MSDE), RSC Pharmaceutics, Expert Opinion on Drug Delivery, Pharmaceutical Technology North America, Pulmonary Therapy, Frontiers in Drug Delivery-Respiratory Section, Frontiers in Pharmacology-Respiratory Pharmacology Section, and Current Nanomedicine. Dr. Mansour is a founding Associate Editor of the journal, RSC Pharmaceutics, and a Topics Editor of the journal, Pharmaceutics. She has co-edited 3 leading international books on inhalation aerosol medicine and nanomedicine and has published 17 book chapters and 130 journal publications. Dr. Mansour is inventor on 5 issued awarded patents, 5 filed patent applications, and has exclusive licenses. Several of the inventions from her research program have successfully reached human clinical trials.
