Nominations for ASEMFL Full and Associate Members
Nominations open August 15 – October 15, with references due November 15
ASEMFL Full Membership:
Election to Full Membership is reserved for those individuals who have achieved the highest recognition and impact in their field, within sciences, engineering, and/or medicine. Election will also factor in contributions that the nominee can bring to ASEMFL. Nominees must be full professors or equivalent in industry/business. Nominees must work and/or live in the state of Florida. Election is by nomination only (no self-nominations permitted). Only ASEMFL Full Members or NASEM (National Academy of Sciences, Engineering, Medicine) members can nominate a candidate for Full Member. Two additional references from ASEMFL Full Members or NASEM members are also required. At least two of the total number of three individuals (nominator plus references) need to be outside the nominee’s organization/company. Successful nominees will be inducted at the ASEMFL Annual Meeting the following year.
ASEMFL Associate Membership:
Election to Associate Membership will be based on sustained excellence and rising impact over the nominee’s career; evaluation will be on impact and potential for impact and sustained and rising contributions in sciences, engineering, and/or medicine. Election will also factor in contributions that the nominee can bring to ASEMFL. Limited to Associate Professors at any stage and Full Professors within their first three years after promotion, or an equivalent level for non-academic nominees. Eligibility is based on rank at time of nomination. Nominees must work and/or live in the state of Florida. Nominations can come from anyone at equivalent or higher rank. The nominator can be from the same or different institution/company as the nominee. In addition to the nominator, three references would be required to support the nomination, one who must be an ASEMFL Full Member and two who are faculty or industry/business members at full professor rank or equivalent. References from National Academies members, although not required, are strongly encouraged. Of the three referees, at most one can be from the nominee’s organization/company. Successful nominees will be inducted at the ASEMFL Annual Meeting the following year.
