Bio

Diana Sheehan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Epidemiology at the Robert Stempel College of Public Health and Social Work at Florida International University (FIU). Her NIH-funded program of research aims to contribute to health equity among the Latino population via epidemiologic studies that identify disparities along the HIV care continuum and via the design and testing of evidence-based interventions. Her current studies are developing and assessing the efficacy of Just-In-Time Adaptive Interventions and stepped care interventions for improving antiretroviral therapy adherence among Latino sexual minority men. Dr. Sheehan’s studies use complex methodologies such as Ecological Momentary Assessments and Sequential Multiple Assignment Randomized Trial designs. In addition to her research, Dr. Sheehan is dedicated to advancing the research careers of minority investigators through various appointments, including as a co-leader of FIU’s Research Center in Minority Institution’s Investigator Development Core and as core faculty of FIU’s Health Disparities Initiative. She holds a PhD in Epidemiology from FIU, and a Bachelor of Science and Master of Public Health degrees from Boston University.
