Bio

Ahmed Ibrahim Mohamed is currently an associate professor at the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, Florida International University (FIU), Miami, FL, USA. He received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in electronics and electrical communications engineering from Cairo University, Cairo, Egypt, in 2002 and 2004, respectively. He received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park, MD, USA, in 2009. He is a recipient of the NSF CAREER Award in 2022. Prior to joining FIU, Dr. Mohamed was an assistant professor at Cairo University, wireless research scientist at Intel Corporation, and senior engineer at Interdigital Communications Inc. Dr. Mohamed’s research interests span various topics of wireless systems including drone-assisted millimeter wave communications, vehicular communications, and rethinking wireless networks through the lens of Riemannian geometry.
